Application Deployment

 Application Deployment Logo No Year

Neumont’s Fall start is just a few months away, and many students are wondering what to expect when they arrive on campus for the first time.  The agenda below should give you a rough idea about what you can expect, and where you should go.

Order a copy of the group photo here.

UNBOXING (Housing Check-in)

  • What:  Housing Move-in… It’s move-in day! Get your keys, meet your roommates, and check out your new digs.  This event is just for students who will reside in Neumont housing.
  • When: Summer Start: July 6, 2012 or Fall Start: October 5, 2012 - 12:00
  • Where: You will be sent your apartment complex name and address in September; there will be a central check-in location at each complex, listed on this letter.
  • What to bring:  All your earthly possessions (or at least those things you plan on bringing with you to school)
  • And then: In the evening, rides will be available to local stores. If you need bedding, toilet paper, food, or a sleek TV stand, catch a ride in a Neumont van.
  • Families are welcome to attend all Unboxing activities.

COMPILING (Orientation)

  • What:  Orientation… Get ready for the first day of classes.  Collect your laptop, see the campus, meet the staff.  Orientation… This is where it all comes together.  We’ll orient you to the campus, the Neumont method, and all those other things you really need to know.  This event is for ALL new students.  If you have an iPhone or Android-based phone and want to get a head start, download the SCVNGR app
  • When: Summer Start: July 7, 2012 or Fall Start: October 6, 2012 - 12:00
  • Where: West River Front Park - just south of the school on River Front Parkway - see your orientation packet for details.
  • What to bring:  A laptop carrying device of some sort (maybe a large satchel, or a backpack), writing instruments, and a notebook (you know the spiral bound kind with paper in them). Also, wear your snazziest duds - this is when we'll be taking your student ID photos
  • Parents are welcome to attend a Parents’ Session during Compiling v1.0 (which will explain what to expect and hopefully lessen the separation anxiety about having you away from home.) We ask that you leave the rest of your “going-away-to-college-entourage” back at the hotel/house/nice air-conditioned-venue of your choice.  These activities are for new students and parents only. Student shuttles will return you to housing at the conclusion of the day’s activities.

INITIALIZATION (Social Events)

  • What:  Time to meet other Neubies, get your game on, and eat a little dinner.
  • When:  To be Announced
  • Where: Neumont Campus, 10701 S. River Front Parkway, on the Second Floor in Room 200
  • What to bring:  You are welcome to bring your own controller (if you’re picky about that sort of thing); we’ll be running RockBand, Brawl, and Halo3
