Why?

This is so you can begin the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (also known as the FAFSA)

How?

You should complete the FAFSA, even if you don't believe you'll qualify for Federal grants. There are need-based, merit-based, and credit-based programs available, but you'll need to complete this application in order to find out what options are out there for you.

Where?

Get your FAFSA PIN at: www.fafsa.ed.gov

How?

Start the FAFSA by downloading the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet. This will give you a clear idea of what documents you'll need when you begin completing the FAFSA online. The FAFSA will pull information automatically from your tax returns using the IRS data retrieval tool. The user-friendly FAFSA website will walk you through the entire process. You'll need Neumont's School Code (009948) to request your FAFSA results to be sent to our Financial Aid Office.

Where?

Complete the FAFSA application: www.fafsa.ed.gov

How?

After you've completed the FAFSA, you're ready to complete Neumont's Paying for College application.

Where?

  1. Log on to www.encodingthenext.com to access the application. You'll need the username and password you provided when completing your application for admissions.
  2. Contact our Financial Aid Office at 801-302-2716 with any questions.

How?

It usually takes us a few weeks to review your FAFSA and develop a Paying for College Estimate giving you a detailed breakdown of federal grants and loans, private loans, Neumont scholarships, and other funding options available, along with eligibility requirements, payment terms, and any interest rates by email, then call to follow up.

What?

  1. Watch your email for the estimate via email then review the funds, terms, and costs of each option.
  2. Work with your Financial Aid Advisor to finalize your Paying for College Plan. Once your financial aid is packaged, you're all done. The funding will be available to pay for your first quarter's tuition and living expenses, if needed.
  3. Financial aid is an ongoing process; you'll repeat this process every three quarters.
