Timeline:

8 weeks before the quarter starts:

Projects for the upcoming quarter are decided by the Enterprise Projects Committee.

Note: All project proposals for the following quarter must be received eight weeks prior to the start of the quarter in which the project will run.

4 - 6 weeks before quarter starts:

Student teams are identified for the projects and the Project Sponsor will receive a list of student names and email addresses.

Note: It is now time to begin the process of preparing security accounts or special software rights for the students assigned to your team.

First day of class:

All students meet on the Neumont campus to prepare for the quarter and discuss their upcoming projects.

Note: A representative from the sponsoring company is encouraged to attend in person. If that’s not possible, you may setup a conference call for that day.

Second day of class:

Students dive into project work. For the first few weeks employers are encouraged to interact with the students frequently to ensure the project is on track.

Note: If your project takes place off-campus, Neumont students will begin working at your offices from this day forward.

Weekly - throughout the quarter:

All projects should have a weekly conference call with the company sponsor, the student team lead, and the Neumont faculty advisor.

Note: This 10-15 minute call keeps everybody up to date on the status of the project and upcoming deadlines and bottlenecks.

End of weeks 3, 6, and 9:

A Neumont faculty member overseeing the projecy will be in touch to evaluate the performance of the students on the project.

Note: More information on what to expect in those calls will be provided as you get closer to launching your project.

Week 10:

The students should close out all project work and turn in their final product to the sponsoring company.

Note: At this point you should ensure that the students check in all code and other proprietary materials.
