Retrospect The Game:
XNA Student Project

Retrospect was created as a student project, by Neumont alumnus Paul Rohde, using the Microsoft XNA SDK and resulted in a distribution quality asteroid shoot 'em up game. Retrospect features random level generation with varying difficulty levels, power ups, physics, sprite animation, a 2D parallax engine, particle engine, keyboard and gamepad controls, and student generated art assets.

GTECH GUISugar: Enterprise Project

Students created a tool for easy User Interface (UI) design for GTECH's gaming services product line which allowed business analysts to design UIs with their clients, allowing those clients to see a prototype of their UI design as they discussed features. The project featured a simple tool for designing UIs featuring a wide ranged of library default widgets, and an assortment of make-our-wn widgets with drag and drop, and snap to grid functionality.

Spillman Touch: Enterprise Project

The leader in public safety industry software, Spillman Technologies, engaged Neumont students to build the Spillman Touch. Neumont students developed this application, which runs on Java EE, to support the use of touch enabled mobile devices like iPhone, Blackberry, Palm Pre, Android, and iPad to provide law enforcement and emergency responders access to critical databases on the scene where traditional devices aren't practical.

IBM AIX server Web 2.0 Tools: Enterprise Project

This project served as an opportunity for students to explore developing "web" utilities using Web 2.0 technologies on IBM's AIX operating system. AIX is IBM's implementation of the UNIX operating system and runs on IBM's pSeries Hardware. Web 2.0 technologies are designed to work across many different operating systems, including AIX.

IBM VMCloud Project

This project used IBM's Systems Director, VMControl, and VIOS to create an environment to support a mini-cloud. With that environment set up, students created a software interface that allows users to request a virtual machine on demand. The requested virtual machine would come with an array of configuration options including operating system, software, and hardware specifications for the amount of time requested. All this is managed, organized, and maintained by utilities written to interface with the IBM systems.
