Student Affairs

At Neumont we provide services and programs that help our students adjust to the rigors of campus life academically, financially and socially. This page is an excellent guide to help you remember and identify the services you might need. Staff members in each of the departments listed below are empowered to address your questions and concerns, and to offer final decisions in their areas of responsibility. This ensures you receive timely and direct resolution to all matters brought to staff attention.

Academic and Student Services

  • Academic Programs
    The Academic Advising Department is available to meet with students regarding academic issues like registration, graduation, course selection and academic requirements. Academic Advising Department Offices are located on the second floor in rooms 213 and 214.
    Every student is assigned an academic advisor to help them make decisions regarding career goals and Academic Concentrations. Academic counseling sessions are held twice per year to help students evaluate their course plan and prepare for graduation effectively.
  • Student Clubs and Activities
    Student Clubs, Activities, and Orders and supervised by the Student Affairs Department. The Student Affairs Offices are located on the second floor in rooms 215 and 216.

    Student Activities Include

    • Pi Day, Week One Done, Pre-Midnight Breakfast, and Housing Events and Outings.
    • Student Orders, Student Clubs, and Service Projects
    • We're eager to add more activities based on student interest.
  • Student Store
    The Neumont University Virtual Bookstore provides all of the textbooks students need for classes at Neumont. The Virtual Bookstore is open from approximately three weeks prior to the start of a quarter until three weeks following the start of a quarter. Neumont suggest ordering your books early to ensure availability and having them delivered to the Neumont campus where they will be waiting for you on your first day of classes.

    Policies and Information

    • Textbooks are sold through the Virtual Bookstore in accordance with official University policies.
    • Students are responsible for the cost of their textbooks.
    • The University is not responsible for replacing lost textbooks.
    • Students may purchase reemployments from the Virtual Bookstore.
    • Students may check copies of their textbooks out of the Neumont Library (subject to availability).
    • Eligible students may charge the cost of their books to their Neumont University student account.
  • Student Government
    Neumont's Unified Student Government is the voice of the student body. USG Meetings are held every Monday at 12:00, Room 200. Students are encouraged to get involved with the USG by participating in activities, running for office, or volunteering to participate on USG committees.

    Student Government, Elections

    • USG Officers are elected every three quarters.
    • Officers include Student Body President, Vice President of Internal Affairs (VPI), Vice President of External Affairs (VPE), and Student Senators.
    • New senator applications must be approved by the standing senate and student government.
    • Student government officers must be in Good Standing, both academically and judicially.
  • Student Employment
    There are a variety of opportunities for student employment on and off campus.  Students interested in pursuing Neumont sponsored employment opportunities must be in quarter three or beyond and in good academic standing.  All student employment is based on approval from the Dean of students.

Health and Security Related Services

  • Campus Annual Security Report
    • The Neumont Administration wants to create a campus environment that supports the learning and development of every student.  To support this we carefully monitor campus and neighborhood crime statistics to evaluate ways to make our South Jordan, Utah college campus environment safer.  
    • You can download our Campus Crime Statistics and Annual Security report to view the reported crimes on the Neumont campus, in student housing and the surrounding neighborhood.

  • Dining Options
    • Catering by Bryce offers a hot lunch service on campus Monday through Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Lunch includes two main course options, side dishes, a bread choice, and a salad. 
    • Gustavo's offers sandwiches on Fridays with a cold and hot option.
    • Students may purchase meal cards in the Neumont bookstore or pay with cash.  During the first three weeks of each quarter, students may charge the cost of meal cards to their student account.
    • Vending machines, microwaves and refrigerators are also available on campus. Many additional dining options are available within a short walk from campus, and dozens of local and chain restaurants are less than a mile’s drive.

  • Mental Health
    • To assist our students who may be struggling to cope with the pressures of college life, Neumont offers recommendations for confidential counseling services, many charge a sliding fee based on the students ability to pay.
    • This service is offered at no additional cost to students, and can be accessed during school breaks, weekends and holidays. We encourage any students with concerns about the mental health of another student, whether the fear is that they will harm themselves or others, to help that person receive the support they need.
    • Report any concerns to the Student Affairs Department who will handle the concern with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Fitness Center
    • Complimentary gym memberships are offered to all students at no additional cost for the Marv Jensen Fitness Center.
    • Marv Jensen is located approximately two miles from campus and features full service facilities including a pool, basketball courts, gym equipment, racquetball courts, fitness courses, personal training and more.
  • Physical Health and Wellness
    • If a student in not feeling well, there are many local health care and urgent care providers within a short distance of the campus —many of these providers can be reached using public transportation.Here is a list of nearby facilities:
