Below are quick links to some of the learning resources available to Neumont students. Each of the resources listed below is recommended by the College to assist you throughout your education. Open each of the nodes below to read more about what each resource provides.

PLURALSIGHT

Current Neumont students have free access to Pluralsight's library of video tutorials. Experts from around the world share online training courses teaching technical and creative subjects. Pluralsight provides a certificate in addition to knowledge and skills.

You should have received an email invitation including your username and password from Pluralsight prior to the first day of class. If you have not received that email, contact Librarian Lori Draper at ldraper@neumont.edu to register your account.

CODE SCHOOL

Included with your Pluralsight account is access to Code School. The site teaches web technologies within the web browser with video lessons, coding challenges, and screencasts. Courses are organized into paths based on technologies.

Your Pluralsight login should allow you to access the site. If your login isn't working, contact Librarian Lori Draper at ldraper@neumont.edu for assistance.

EBSCOhost eBooks

Every current student has access to academic database EBSCOhost. To access the site, you must either click the link while on Neumont's network or click the link at my.neumont.edu off-campus.

EBSCOhost COMPUTER & APPLIED SCIENCES COMPLETE

EBSCOhosts database on computer and applied sciences focuses on the latest research and development in the field. Students have access to more than 1,000 academic journals and articles within the database. To access the site, you must login either from Neumont's network or off campus using the link provided at my.neumont.edu.

Utah's Online Library

Utah's Online Library offers access to wide database of research and periodicals. This database is limited to residents of Utah only. For some resources, you must login with your local library card. Neumont students are strongly encouraged to register for a library card at the Main Library in downtown Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City Public Library System

The Salt Lake City Public Library System (SLCPL) offers free access to databases, books, music, movies, and more. Students are encouraged to register for a free library card at the downtown Main Library branch as soon as possible. For proof of residency, please contact the Office of Student Affairs.

Students may be interested in resources like the following from SLCPL:

  • Lynda.com: Lynda.com provides an extensive library of training videos
  • Freegal: This service provides free music downloads from Sony Music's catalog and up to five hours of free streaming a day.
  • OverDrive: Stream movies for free from anywhere. OverDrive also offers access to eBooks and audio books. The service is compatible with most devices.
  • RBdigital: This service provides free access to adult and young adult eBooks, audio books, and magazines.

Both the Main and Marmalade branches of the Salt Lake City Public Library are near Neumont Student Housing. Each location provides community events and activities in addition to study areas.

Zotero

This free, online tool helps you collect, organize, cite, and share your research in one searchable database. You can store all your research from PDFs, images, audio, video, and screen shots in one place. Everything is automatically indexed. And Zotero will create citations for you. You should always proofread your works cited page before submitting your work to an instructor.

Software

Neumont provides students with more than the Microsoft Office Suite. You also have access to several versions of software including, Windows operating systems, SQL server, Sharepoint, Project, Visual Studio, VMware, and other developer tools.

Go to the "Software" tab in my.neumont.edu to download the software you need for your next project. If you need any assistance accessing or downloading the software, contact IT or stop by Student IT Support.
