STUDENT AFFAIRS MISSION

Student Affairs is committed to enhancing the mission of Neumont College of Computer Science by engaging students outside of the classroom through academic enhancement programs, events, leadership opportunities, advising, and one-on-one mentorship. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment with a community that respects and celebrates diverse groups and perspectives.

MEET THE STUDENT AFFAIRS TEAM

Our team consists of passionate, caring, and driven professionals who are invested in guiding our students through their Neumont journey. We strive to provide our students with a rich student life experience that will aid in their holistic development and prepare them to engage in a globalized society. As educators that work beyond the classroom, we serve our students as advocates, conduct administrators, policy makers, advisors, programmers, residence life staff, mentors, and more.

Student ADVOCATES

Every student is assigned an advocate to help make decisions regarding career goals, degree paths, and to ensure students are on track for graduation. Advocates will be assigned at Freshman Orientation.

Advocates are educators that work outside of the classroom and collaborate with the faculty and other staff members to help equip students with specific strategies for personal, academic, and professional success. Your Advocate will use a caring approach to:

  • Get to know you and understand your unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations.

  • Provide individualized support to aid you in reaching your goals.

  • Help orient you to the campus and the Neumont community during your first few quarters.

  • Encourage and take part in fostering your engagement with the campus and community by advising you of opportunities and organizations that fit with your interests.

  • Assist you in learning and understanding important college policies and guidelines integral to creating your own success.

  • Act as a referral agent and guide you to campus and community resources (academic coaches, instructor office hours, useful online tools, study tips, medical facilities, etc.).

  • Increase your exposure to, and awareness of, diversity so that you can process and challenge your world view through critical thought.

  • Promote the development of your personal, professional, and leadership skills in order to help you become a global citizen.
