NC-SARA

Neumont University is approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) and may offer distance education to students located in other SARA member states, subject to SARA policies and state requirements.

Neumont's academic programs are not designed to lead to professional licensure required for employment in a state-regulated profession. Therefore, professional licensure disclosures are generally not applicable to Neumont programs.

Students must exhaust Neumont's institutional complaint process before filing a complaint through the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) complaint process. NC-SARA requires that complaints first be addressed by the institution before they may be appealed to a SARA State Portal Entity.

Student Complaints and Grievances

Neumont College is committed to resolving student concerns fairly and promptly. Students should first attempt to resolve complaints through Neumont's internal complaint and grievance procedures.

Complaints covered by the student code of conduct, such as grade grievance or conduct issue - that have not been filed with the institution - will be referred to the institution.

If a student enrolled in a distance education program remains dissatisfied after completing Neumont's complaint process, the student may appeal the matter through Utah's SARA State Portal Entity, provided the complaint falls within SARA's scope and is not related to grades or student conduct matters.

Examples of SARA-covered complaints may include:

  • Accuracy of recruitment and marketing materials

  • Tuition, fees, and financial aid disclosures

  • Admissions requirements

  • Accreditation disclosures

  • Professional licensure disclosures

  • Transfer credit representations

  • Distance education operations and practices
