WHO IS THE BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR?

Software products/projects involve a lot of people, processes, and creativity to be successful. Students who fit into the BSTM program may have interests in one or more of the following: wanting to understand and build software but not necessarily code; may be interested in starting their own business one day; loves empathizing with users to build great requirements; has a software design passion and interest in leadership development; loves working with others and building effective outcomes; enjoys finding edge cases and defects in software; and/or diving into data and building intelligent design, decision-making, and machine learning.

FOCUS OF THE BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

You'll develop a thorough grounding in what it takes to build software, manage software development teams and outputs, perform data analysis, and conduct high-quality software testing. You’ll develop soft skills in team leadership, group dynamics, conflict management, personal development, and empathy for awesome user experiences.  

This program also offers certification vouchers to further enhance your résumé.

TAILOR YOUR LEARNING EXPERIENCE WITH AREAS OF EMPHASES & CERTIFICATIONS

In the Business Technology Management degree program, qualified students can tailor their learning experience, gaining additional preparation every quarter with an Area of Emphasis in one of three specialized paths:  

  • Product Management  

  • Project Management 

  • Data Analysis 

These areas are designed for comprehensive knowledge, as well as advanced proficiency, in the chosen domain. Students who earn an emphasis will receive recognition for their achievement. 

Additionally, this program offers certification vouchers that can help you enhance your résumé and learning experience. 

INTRODUCTORY PROJECTS 

You will learn the basics of computer science as you explore each degree program in your first academic year. In classes like Java, you will work in small project teams mastering the basics.

FOUNDATIONAL PROJECTS

Master the basic foundations of computer programming and business practices.

DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS

Apply your knowledge and new skills to diverse software projects. This will culminate in a Capstone Project where you will present your master of core competencies in business and technology to your professors and peers. 

ENTERPRISE PROJECTS

Collaborate with students from other degree programs on an Enterprise Project team working with a real company to manage software and web development projects.
